Southside Chronicles – Part II

If you missed Part I, https://lennonliberated.com/2020/04/24/southside-chronicles-part-i/

Guests were sprinting from their cars with umbrellas in hand to the front doors of the church. Thunder rolling loudly as the windows rattling dominating the church bells ringing. Large dark eerie clouds were moving in slow motion in the sky.

Joey tightened his tie admiringly in the make shift dressing room while his groomsmen played poker drinking whiskey neat. He couldn’t help but reminisce in his mind of the first time he saw her. Her legs went up to that beautiful chin. He was hoping she would notice him looking at her. She continued walking with her head down as if she had been scolded. His heart was beating rapidly, licking his lips he began sweating profusely as he deliberately walked right into her. The heavy books dropped to the floor scattering as people stepped over them as they continued walking to their classes.

He apologized as he lowered himself to the floor hoping that she would make eye contact with him but instead she dipped down without even looking at him. She rushed grabbing the books as her eyelashes flickered.

Clearing his throat while handing her a book, “I’m really sorry. Maybe I could take you out for a milkshake some time to make up for my clumsiness?”

It seemed like hours before her piercing ocean blue eyes finally met his. She blinked a few times and looked back down at the floor shaking as she grabbed the last book. He gently touched her elbow to help her up as a gentleman should. Glaring at him with those eyes he repeated “Can I take you out for a milkshake some time?” Her high cheek bones were flushed.

“I thought you were dating my sister?”

To be continued…..

The "About" me section is the first thing I look for when a blog catches my eye when scrolling through the discovery section of WP. Yet, it scares the living fuck out of me to have to sum up in detail this section of my very own blog. Why? Because whatever I write, you might be hooked or bored to tears. Actually, you're probably already bored to tears by now. So let me get to it then..... By the way, I used to have a blog called Fabulous With Glitches so some of this might sound familiar. Friends might describe me as the life of the party yet secretive. I tend to keep things inside that trouble me. I've been self-reliant all of my life and I don't like to show weakness or that something worries me. Holding back has led me to seek refuge here. I can write out my thoughts and feelings so that it frees up my mind. It seems like my mind is open 24/7 like a gas station and just never turns off the open sign. I grew up in the south and come from the typical opinionated southern christian parents. Well, they're very involved now in church. Growing up, my parents weren't necessarily "present" in my life. They were around and did the best they could I suppose. I'm grateful for everything they have contributed in my life. I know that it could've been much worse. As they say, I wouldn't be who I am if I didn't grow up the way that I did. Gritty is a good word to describe me as well. I've had to speak up and defend myself throughout my life. I'm confident and a bit headstrong. I have two cats and I adore them needless to say. Their names are Franklin and Farrah. Yes, I consider myself a crazy cat lady, what's it to ya? You will see pictures of them throughout my blog I'm sure :) Welcome and thank you so much for stopping by and peaking into my safe place full of random thoughts. XO

      1. Thanks for reading girl!!! Hey, I wanted to ask you, you’re still in Jax FL right? Are restaurants and stuff open there? A friend is heading down there tomorrow and wondering if things are back to normal yet, they’re heading there for vacation.

      2. Girl. Yes. I don’t know if you’ll get this in time, but they had to arrest people yesterday because the restaurant wasn’t following the social distancing rules :-/
